He’s become one of England’s most dependable leading men, and while displaying his talents in a host of dramatic productions, The Personal History of David Copperfield shows off Dev Patel’s comedic range too, as he collaborates with Armando Iannucci in this reimagining of Charles Dickens famous work.

To mark the occasion we had the pleasure of sitting down with Patel to discuss the project, as he talks about the joy in leading a colour-blind cast. He talks about working alongside the likes of Tilda Swinton and Hugh Laurie and what it was like to work so closely with Iannucci himself. He also comments on the everlasting aspect of Dickens work, and speaks briefly about his forthcoming film Green Knight, alongside director David Lowery.

Synopsis

The life of David Copperfield from childhood to maturity, with his own adventures and the web of friends and enemies he meets along his way.
