It’s been a number of years since Chris Morris released Four Lions – arguably the best British film this side of the Millennium – and so naturally we’ve been rather excited to see how he follows it up. This is where The Day Shall Come steps in; another excellent satire that focuses in on the world of extremism. We had the pleasure of meeting the film’s leading star Marchánt Davis, where we discuss what it was like working with Morris on this project.

He talks about the collaborative nature to the director’s work, and just how room there was for spontaneity on set. He also talks about riding a horse, the film’s difficult (but triumphant) tonality, and tells us what he has coming up..

Synopsis

An impoverished preacher who brings hope to the Miami projects is offered cash to save his family from eviction. He has no idea his sponsor works for the FBI, and the FBI plans on turning him into a criminal by fuelling his revolutionary dreams.
