‘Star Trek’ fans were in their element over the weekend with a new “Trek” treat at New York Comic-Con. Sir Patrick Stewart debuted a new ‘Star Trek: Picard’ trailer during the series’ New York Comic-Con panel at Madison Square Garden, New York.
That wasn’t the only revelation for the new 10 episodes long series, a launch date of Friday 24th January 2020, outside of the U.S. and Canada was also announced with a new episode becoming available every Friday thereafter on Amazon Prime.
The new series is set two decades after the events of ‘Star Trek: The Next Generation,’ the story will follow the former U.S.S. Enterprise captain in the next phase of his life.
The story will centre on Picard’s love of archaeology with a mission to revolve around some sort of alien artefact that’s been discovered. It will also deal with Picard’s role in having brokered peace with the Romulans and then watching it crumble with the destruction of Romulus due to a stellar event.
The series will also star Isa Briones, Santiago Cabrera, Michelle Hurd, Alison Pill, Harry Treadaway and Evan Evagora.
