Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice received mixed reviews, but Ben Affleck emerged from that unscathed and was in fact hailed as the best big screen Dark Knight to date. We’ll see Batman in Suicide Squad next month, but after that, the actor stars in The Accountant.
That comes from Warrior and Jane Got A Gun helmer Gavin O’Connor, and it features the Justice League star as a mild mannered accountant who freelances as an assassin. The Accountant looks great, and just like during Comic-Con, Warner Bros. once again prove that they know what they’re doing when it comes to putting together a really excellent trailer.
Christian Wolff (Ben Affleck) stars as a math savant with more affinity for numbers than people. Behind the cover of a small-town CPA office, he works as a freelance accountant for some of the world’s most dangerous criminal organizations. With the Treasury Department’s Crime Enforcement Division, run by Ray King (J.K. Simmons), starting to close in, Christian takes on a legitimate client: a state-of- the- art robotics company where an accounting clerk (Anna Kendrick) has discovered a discrepancy involving millions of dollars. But as Christian uncooks the books and gets closer to the truth, it is the body count that starts to rise.
The cast also includes Jon Bernthal, Jeffrey Tambor, and John Lithgow. The Accountant is set to be released on November 4th, so expect to see even more from this one soon enough…
