Star Wars: The Force Awakens is exceeding expectations at the box office, breaking pretty much every single record there is to break, including having the highest opening weekend of all-time at the worldwide box office. With no sign of business slowing down, it has already sailed passed $600 million and analysts are beginning to predict big things for the movie.

How big? Well, they believe that it could end up grossing as much as $3 billion by the time all is said and done. Avatar is currently the highest grossing movie ever with a massive $2.7 billion, and if Star Wars: The Force Awakens does indeed reach this figure, it will make history. Of course, it’s already doing that regardless of whether or not it breaks the record!

In other Star Wars: The Force Awakens news, J.J. Abrams has been spilling the beans on the movie’s biggest moments (from this point on, there are MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD).

Talking about the decision to have Kylo Ren murder his father Han Solo, the director said:

“Star Wars had the greatest villain in cinema history. So, how you bring a new villain into that world is a very tricky thing? We knew we needed to do something f—king bold. The only reason why Kylo Ren has any hope of being a worthy successor is because we lose one of the most beloved characters. Long before we had this title, the idea of The Force Awakens was that this would become the evolution of not just a hero, but a villain – and not a villain who was the finished, ready-made villain, but someone who was in process. Seeing these two actors, they weren’t chewing up the scenery. They were just doing this thing in a way that, frankly, was disturbing. To see Harrison reach out and touch Adam. I know this sounds stupid, but literally watching it, I forgot — I forgot that he wasn’t his son. He did it so beautifully.”

As heartbreaking as that moment was, it’s hard to find fault with Abrams’ justification here!

Disney has also released a new critics TV spot for Star Wars: The Force Awakens along with a new batch of concept art taken from the recently released “Art Of” book. Also in the gallery is an image sent out to by Universal to congratulate the studio on beating Jurassic World’s opening weekend record. Once again, there are obviously lots of SPOILERS in the gallery.
