The road to release for Legendary’s fantasy epic blockbuster Seventh Son has not been an easy one. Troubled with post-production delays and a shift in studios, the film is finally about to arrive on the big screen.

Originally set up at Warner Bros., the film has since changed hands to follow Legendary to Universal, and tonight the campaign has officially been relaunched with a new trailer and poster.

In a time of enchantments when legends and magic collide, the sole remaining warrior of a mystical order (Oscar® winner Jeff Bridges) travels to find a prophesized hero born with incredible powers, the last Seventh Son (Ben Barnes). Torn from his quiet life as a farmhand, the unlikely young hero embarks on a daring adventure with his battle-hardened mentor to vanquish a dark queen (Julianne Moore) and the army of supernatural assassins she has dispatched against their kingdom.

Jeff Bridges and Ben Barnes take centre stage, with Julianne Moore, Alicia Vikander, Kit Harington, Olivia Williams, and Djimon Hounsou rounding out the ensemble.

Sergei Bodrov is directing from a script co-written by Charles Leavitt and Steve Knight, from a previous draft by Matt Greenberg, based on Joseph Delaney’s book series The Last Apprentice.

If it proves to be a hit, there are over a dozen books in the series that could be mined for sequels in the years to come.

Seventh Son will hit in 3D and IMAX 3D on February 6th, 2015. Let us know your thoughts on this latest footage in the comments below.
