Some may have thought the Purge franchise would live forever, but the film’s creator James DeMonaco has confirmed there will only be one more to go, making it the fifth and final instalment.

DeMonaco, who has written all four films and directed the first 3 spoke to Entertainment Weekly about his plans for the franchise. He revealed he has already come up with an idea to finish the franchise would had everyone psyched at the pitch.

I have it in my head. I think I’m going to write it. I think it’s a great way to end it all. We want to end it all, I think, in this one, and I’m very excited. When I came up with the idea and pitched it to everybody, they seemed psyched, and I think it will be a really cool ending, how we take this one home.

The fourth was a prequel.
