Production on Patty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman is set to begin in London next month, and it seems like spoilers from the set are already beginning to leak. While we don’t have anything as major as the movie’s ending here, there are still some pretty big reveals, so you may want to stop reading now if you’d rather not know what’s on the horizon for the Amazonian!

Apparently, Wonder Woman will indeed take place during World War I and the present day. The two lead villains are set to be Circe and Ares, with the latter set to be the big bad of the movie. Past rumours have pointed to these two being played by Eva Green and Sean Bean!

The plan is for Ares to, “employ an army of beasts that are described as red or green demonic monsters with horns and wings that will be sent to kill Wonder Woman,” something which is sure to look pretty unique in a setting like WWI. Don’t go expecting Circe to be helpless though, as it’s said that she transforms into Chimera-like monster at one point.

It sounds like the bulk of the movie is going to take place in the present day with Wonder Woman and Steve Trevor (Chris Pine) trying to stop Circe as she attempts to manipulate high level government officials into starting World War III with Ares backing her up. This will lead to flashbacks explaining how Wonder Woman defeated Ares during World War I, though the site mentions that we may actually end up seeing that play out as the film’s prologue.

The Invisible Jet will also be present (it’ll be interesting to see how they manage to handle that in a convincing manner), as will Batman! Just like Suicide Squad, Ben Affleck is set to make a cameo appearance as he watches her saving lives during a battle with Ares’ demons. The twist here is that Wonder Woman will be set before the events of Batman v Superman, with Batman approaching the hero at the end and establishing a friendship with her.

This is all very interesting, and while it would be easy to dismiss it, JoBlo have been very accurate with a lot of their Marvel rumours lately, so there’s no reason to disbelieve them here. Regardless, it’s clear that Wonder Woman is going to be very interesting indeed…
