There has been a lot of rumours about who might end up starring in Paul Feig’s Ghostbusters reboot, but after all of that, it now appears as if we finally know who will take on the four leading roles in the movie.

The trades first broke the news that Melissa McCarthy (Mike & Molly) has officially signed on to star as one of the leads, with Kristen Wiig (The Secret Life of Walter Mitty) and Saturday Night Live players Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon all said to be nearing deals to make up the main team of female Ghostbusters.

However, a Tweet would follow moments later from the director (see below) seemingly confirming the cast!

McCarthy and Wiig have worked together and with Feig before, most notably on the comedy, Bridesmaids.

Jones and McKinnon meanwhile are likely not all that familiar to anyone outside of the US, but both have found great success on SNL, with the latter actually nominated for an Emmy for her work in it last year.

The third Ghostbusters movie has been a long time coming, with original director Ivan Reitman at one time on board to return alongside original cast members Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, Ernie Hudson, and Bill Murray (who wouldn’t commit at the time). Following the death of Ramis, Reitman scrapped those plans.
