Paramount have announced that the fifth instalment in the Paranormal Activity franchise will be called Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension. We weren’t able to scare up any plot details about what this one will be focusing on unfortunately, but we do know that the new release date is on March 23rd, 2015!

The movie was originally set to be released on October 24th, 2014, a release date which would have seen it potentially cash in on the Halloween craze of seeing a scary movie. The reason for the delay in unknown.

Now, Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension will have to square off against Disney and Kenneth Branagh’s live-action Cinderella and Ron Howard’s In the Heart of the Sea, starring Chris Hemsworth.

This instalment in the popular franchise (though 2014 spin-off Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones actually was the least successful of all these films at the box office to date) will see Gregory Plotkin make his directorial debut from a script by Jason Pagan and Andrew Star. Oren Peli will once again produce.

The series has build up its own quite convoluted continuity over the years, so here’s hoping we finally get some answers about how everything ties together! Are you excited for the next Paranormal Activity?
