“Our world is facing an unstoppable threat…send in the Guardians!”

That’s the line from Nova Prime Rael (Glenn Close) in this epic new TV spot for James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy, a preview featuring plenty of great never before seen footage from what many have dubbed Marvel’s riskiest movie yet as they take us into outer space with this quirky team of heroes.

That team consists of Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Drax the Destroyer (Dave Bautista), Rocket Raccoon (Bradley Cooper), and Groot (Vin Diesel).

The shot of Star-Lord above is likely one of the final scenes in the movie, though who that hand belongs to (and who exactly he’s speaking to) remains to be seen. The answer to the latter could be Josh Brolin’s Thanos, but for now, we’re just going to have to wait and see! What do you guys think?

From Marvel, the studio that brought you the global blockbuster franchises of Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and The Avengers, comes a new team—the Guardians of the Galaxy. An action-packed, epic space adventure, Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos, where brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe. To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits—Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon, Groot, a tree-like humanoid, the deadly and enigmatic Gamora and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when Quill discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand—with the galaxy’s fate in the balance.

Starring Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, Karen Gilian, Djimon Hounsou, John C. Reilly, Glenn Close and Benicio del Toro, Guardians of the Galaxy is set to be released on August 1st in the US and July 31st in the UK.
