Perhaps gaining a little ground a couple of big trailers due to hit in the next 24 hours Constantin Films have unleashed a new trailer for Paul W. S. Anderson’s 3D adaptation of the classic Alexandre Dumas tale The Three Musketeers, and it’s just as crazy as the first…

Given Anderson’s previous form there was little chance this was going to be a light, delicate detailing of French courtly rituals with a dash of intrigue and the occasional crossed swords, but this is more like The Matrix Renaissance. This is most definitely not your great-great-great-great-great-great-great grandfather’s Three Musketeers.

The Three Musketeers does have a great cast though, with Logan Lerman , Milla Jovovich , Matthew Macfadyen , Ray Stevenson, and  Luke Evans joined by Mads Mikkelson , Gabriella Wilde, Juno Temple with Orlando Bloom and Christoph Waltz, who looks resplendent in his Cardinal’s outfit and not a bit like The Spanish Inquisition.

Synopsis before heading into the fray?

The hot-headed young D’Artagnan (Logan Lerman ) joins forces with three rogue Musketeers (Matthew MacFadyen, Luke Evans and Ray Stevenson) in this reboot of Alexandre Dumas ’  story.  They must stop the evil Richlieu (Christoph Waltz ) and face off with Buckingham (Orlando Bloom ) and the treacherous Milady (Milla Jovovich ).  The action adventure is given a state of the art update in 3-D.
