Following the release of that very cool new trailer, Paramount Pictures has released a trio of TV spots which feature even more great footage from arguably July’s most exciting release.

While J.J. Abrams certainly didn’t skimp on action, this instalment looks even grander in terms of scale, and it’s going to be interesting seeing how the franchise performs without him. The first two movies did well, but they certainly didn’t come close to Star Wars: The Force Awakens at the box office, so there’s still a long way for Star Trek to go in that respect.

However, Star Trek Beyond definitely has all the makings of a game changer for the studio.

Star Trek Beyond features the return of Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, Simon Pegg, Anton Yelchin and John Cho along with new roles for Idris Elba, Sofia Boutella and Joe Taslim. J.J. Abrams, who directed the last two films, is producing the third film in the rebooted franchise. Justin Lin is directing from a script by Simon Pegg and Doug Jung.

The movie is set to reach the big screen on July 22nd, just a few weeks before the Star Trek franchise celebrates its 50th anniversary. The movie was put on the fast track in order to meet this very special year for Star Trek, but talk of a fourth instalment has already begun.
