There isn’t exactly an awful lot of hype surrounding this summer’s Star Trek Beyond, but with a new trailer believed to be right around the corner, that may very well change soon enough.

However, clearly confident in the success of that movie and the franchise’s future in general, Paramount has already registered the “Star Trek 4” title with the MPAA. While that’s unlikely to be the final title, the news that the studio has plans for another instalment really isn’t that surprising, especially as they recently signed up Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto for another.

Justin Lin is going to direct the Space Jam sequel, so it’s unclear whether or not he’ll be back for Star Trek 4. The movie doesn’t even have a release date as of right now, so time will tell.

In other Star Trek news, it has now been confirmed that CBS’ new Star Trek TV series will start shooting in Toronto this Autumn. That isn’t expected to be tied into the movies in any way, and plot details are currently being kept under wraps, but it was previously revealed that Hannibal’sĀ Bryan Fuller will be overseeing the show after working onĀ American Gods.

tar Trek Beyond is set to be released on July 22nd, while that TV series follows next year.
