Prometheus PosterEverything that we’ve seen in recent months of Ridley Scott’s upcoming Prometheus has been both awesome and elusive, teasing plenty but letting us in on almost nothing.

We’re due to get a new US trailer for the film this weekend, debuted by director Scott and writer Damon Lindelof. But ahead of that, we now have an incredible new trailer for the film promoting its IMAX release, and it does its job well; this is a film you’ll want to see on as big a screen as possible.

“Visionary filmmaker Ridley Scott returns to the genre he helped define, creating an original science fiction epic set in the most dangerous corners of the universe. The film takes a team of scientists and explorers on a thrilling journey that will test their physical and mental limits and strand them on a distant world, where they will discover the answers to our most profound questions and to life’s ultimate mystery.”

Scott has assembled a fantastic cast for his return to sci-fi, headed up by Michael Fassbender, Charlize Theron, Noomi Rapace, Guy Pearce, Logan Marshall-Green, Idris Elba, and Patrick Wilson, every single one of which are brilliant and will be performances to look forward to.

*Potential mini-spoiler alert* And this trailer also gives what I believe is our first understanding of the film’s title, ‘Prometheus’. But in case anyone wishes to remain in the dark, I’ll leave it to the video below to do the talking.

Prometheus will be released in 3D and IMAX 3D and will be with us here in the UK on 1st June, before heading across to the US on 8th June. Anybody else incredibly excited? Be sure to check back in for another new trailer this weekend. And for now, here’s the new IMAX trailer in all of its intensity. Enjoy.
