There has already been some amazing concept art released for Rupert Wyatt’s Rise of the Planet of the Apes and today Twentieth Century Fox have given us new images from the production.

Some of the scenes depicted below have been glimsped in the recent trailers, and it’s great to get a further look at the world Fox, Wyatt and Weta are putting together for this film.

The director was very clear about the nature of the images which inspired him when developing the project and the film looks to be so much more than Apes Vs. Humans (which is bound to be The Asylum’s version right?).

I do like the way this film is being marketed, and the viral videos Fox are putting out are a nice touch and, they hope, will drum up some subconcious groundswell for the film, but as a fan of filmmaking I love this sort of stuff – the image of Caeser in his bedroom tells me so much more about his character and his predicament than a dozen viral offerings.

You can click here to see the first batch of concept art and click here for the second, when they get around to releasing The Art of the Rise of the Planet of the Apes I’ll be first in line.
