The Ham Yard Hotel in London set a fittingly intimate and atmospheric stage this evening for the UK Premiere of Glenrothan, the deeply personal directorial debut of one of British cinema’s most formidable talents. Brian Cox — beloved the world over as Logan Roy in Succession — steps behind the camera for the first time in a feature film, crafting a brooding, richly textured Highland drama that doubles as a love letter to his native Scotland. The film stars Alan Cumming, Brian Cox, Shirley Henderson and Alexandra Shipp; it was written by David Ashton and Jeff Murphy, and directed by Brian Cox.
Glenrothan will be released in cinemas on 17th April 2026.
Colin Hart and Abigail Shii were on the red carpet, here are their interviews.

Plot:
After 35 years in Chicago, Donal (Alan Cumming) reluctantly returns to the Scottish Highlands to reconcile with his estranged older brother Sandy (Brian Cox), who needs him to take over the family’s whisky distillery or be forced to sell and surrender the family’s legacy. But their reunion forces both brothers to confront the real reason Donal left — a violent exchange with their domineering father on the very day of their mother’s funeral — and to face whether the wounds of the past can ever truly be put to rest.
