Following its sterling run on the festival circuit Aaron Sorkin’s directorial debut has arrived in London just in time for the UK release of Molly’s Game. Today we present the full press conference for the new film from the man behind The West Wing, adapted from the real life tale as told by Molly Bloom.
Jessica Chastain leads the film with Idris Elba, Kevin Costner, Michael Cera, Chris O’Dowd in support. It tells the true story of an Olympic-class skier who ran the world’s most exclusive high-stakes poker game and eventually became an FBI target. Her players included movie stars, business titans and, unbeknownst to her, the Russian mob.

The film the tradition elements which have, thus far, borne Sorkin’s success. There is a fine ensemble cast, cracking dialogue and a slow uncovering of the human insight in the depths of bureaucracy and the boundaries of society.

MOLLY’S GAME is based on the true story of Molly Bloom, an Olympic-class skier who ran the world’s most exclusive high-stakes poker game for a decade before being arrested in the middle of the night by 17 FBI agents wielding automatic weapons. Her players included Hollywood royalty, sports stars, business titans and finally, unbeknownst to her, the Russian mob. Her only ally was her criminal defense lawyer Charlie Jaffey, who learned that there was much more to Molly than the tabloids led us to believe.
