Best known for his work directing Juno and Up in the Air, Jason Reitman is back in the director’s chair and bound for the festival circuit once more with his latest dramatic comedy, Men, Women & Children.

The film features one of the best ensemble casts of the year, and ahead of its world premiere at TIFF next month, Paramount has launched the first teaser trailer.

“MEN, WOMEN & CHILDREN” follows the story of a group of high school teenagers and their parents as they attempt to navigate the many ways the internet has changed their relationships, their communication, their self-image, and their love lives. The film attempts to stare down social issues such as video game culture, anorexia, infidelity, fame hunting, and the proliferation of illicit material on the internet. As each character and each relationship is tested, we are shown the variety of roads people choose – some tragic, some hopeful – as it becomes clear that no one is immune to this enormous social change that has come through our phones, our tablets, and our computers.

Kaitlyn Dever, Rosemarie DeWitt, Ansel Elgort, Jennifer Garner, Judy Greer, Dean Norris, and Adam Sandler top the cast, joined by Emma Thompson and J.K. Simmons.

Reitman directs from a script co-written with Secretary’s Erin Cressida Wilson, based on the novel by Chad Kultgen.

Men, Women & Children is set to begin with a limited US release on October 3rd, before expanding on October 17th. No word yet on a UK release date, but Paramount has the rights for our shores and will hopefully be releasing it around the same time.
