Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi have joined the cast of Emerald Fennell’s upcoming ‘Wuthering Heights’ adaptation.

The pair are set to play Catherine Earnshaw and Heathcliff.

‘Saltburn’ filmmaker, Fennell will pen the project as well as taking the helm and producing. Based on the classic romance novel by Emily Brontë, plot details for Fennell’s version are being kept locked up. The original version tells the story of the turbulent relationship between Heathcliff and Catherine.

Robbie, who recently played a leading role in the highly successful movie ‘Barbie’, has served as a producer for both of Fennell’s earlier films. Elordi gained recognition for his role in ‘Saltburn’, which achieved great success on Amazon towards the end of 2023.

LuckyChap – who are producing the feature – and Fennell have a history of successful collaborations, having worked together on three notable projects. Their partnership started with the critically acclaimed ‘Promising Young Woman’ in 2020, for which Fennell received the prestigious Oscar for best original screenplay. Their collaboration continued with the 2023 film ‘Saltburn.’ Furthermore, Fennell played a featured role in LuckyChap’s highly successful ‘Barbie’ movie, which was both produced and starred in by Robbie. This film achieved significant financial success, grossing $1.4 billion, and also earned an Academy Award.
