Those desperate to get their brooding superhero fix next week for the eagerly-awaited final instalment of Christopher Nolan’s take on the Batman myth, The Dark Knight Rises, may be interested to know that an alternative IMAX screen is available at London’s Science Museum.

You may recall that Nolan introduced the IMAX camera in a couple of key scenes during 2008’s The Dark Knight and has now upped the game considerably with this follow-up, which includes 60 minutes of special IMAX 70mm footage.

What’s more, the films’ visual effects supervisor Paul Franklin will be hosting a talk to shares his experiences of working on the film next Friday, prior to the evening screening.

If this is sending you into a Bane-like fury of excitement and anticipation, you can book tickets for the talk or film showings on 0870 870 4868 between 08.30 and 18.00 or visit www.sciencemuseum.org.uk
