Oscar-nominated ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’ actress Lily Gladstone has been set to join the cast of the adaptation of ‘The Memory Police.’

Gladstone’s latest role will see her reunite with the ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’ helmer, Martin Scorsese, who will executive produce the project. The story is an adaptation of the acclaimed 1994 science fiction novel by Yoko Ogawa.

The story takes place on an unnamed island situated off an unnamed coast, where the majority of the island’s inhabitants are subjected to collective amnesia. They go through a process where they forget things, including people, objects, and daily rituals that are enforced by an organization called The Memory Police. In the novel, a writer tries to hide her editor, who still remembers everything, from the Memory Police while he encourages her to write her book.

Reed Morano, who helmed episodes of ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ is set to direct from a script by Charlie Kaufman. Morano and Margot Hand of Picture Films will produce. Scorsese will executive produce along with Ogawa.
