Sony’s Men in Black spin-off seems to be gaining some traction ahead of its planned production start in London in June. Not only have we got an extremely brief synopsis to mull over, but action veteran Liam Neeson has entered talks to join the alien saga.

Neeson would be coming onto the spin-off to play the head of the U.K. branch of the MIB agency. Rip Torn portrayed the head of the American division in the original films.

After Neeson’s self-imposed retirement from the action genre, the project could be right up his street as he looks to take it easy on set. We can’t but wonder if his skills in the action arena may just come in to play, even for a brief moment.

As for the synopsis, it doesn’t give much away about the new adventure. Tessa Thompson will reunite with her Thor Ragnarok co-star, Chris Hemsworth, as partners at the London branch of the Men in Black agency. The synopsis is below;

Em (played by Tessa Thompson) goes on a journey to prove herself by joining the London branch of the MIB. She is partnered with “former ace” MIB agent “H” (played by Chris Hemsworth) and the pair soon find themselves embroiled in a murder mystery that will see them crossing the globe.

The new project is expected to be within the same universe inhabited by Agent’s J and K (Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones). With Straight Outta Compton director, F. Gary Gray taking the helm of a script that has already been written by Iron Man scribes, Matt Holloway & Art Marcum. Walter Parkes and Laurie MacDonald are back as producers and Steven Spielberg will be executive producers.

A release date of June 14, 2019, has already been set.
