Sony Pictures has dropped the first teaser trailer for its bold new take on ‘Resident Evil,’ and it promises a nightmarish reinvention of the iconic horror franchise.
From the twisted imagination of Zach Cregger, best known for the unsettling cult hit ‘Barbarian,’ comes a fresh story that swaps sprawling conspiracies for a tightly wound, pulse-pounding survival nightmare.
At the centre of the story is Bryan, played by Austin Abrams, a medical courier who finds himself trapped in a rapidly collapsing city as a horrifying chain of events spirals out of control. What begins as an ordinary job quickly mutates into a frantic, action-fuelled race for survival as the night tightens its grip.
Joining Abrams is a strong ensemble cast, including Zach Cherry, Kali Reis and Paul Walter Hauser.
