It’s Star Wars day my friends, and Disney’s marketing armada has fired the opening salvo – the first proper (i.e. non-Teaser) trailer for Obi-Wan Kenobi: Space Jesus.

Led by Ewan McGregor as the titular Jedi, the series will also see the return of Hayden Christensen in the role of Darth Vader and maybe Flashback Anakin. Returning to the Star Wars fold are Joel Edgerton, Bonnie Piesse as BBQs to be Owen and Beru. Joining the cast are Moses Ingram, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell and Benny Safdie.

The new trailer gives us a good look at some of the new faces as well as a couple of old ones.

The series is directed by Deborah Chow and executive-produced by Kathleen Kennedy, Michelle Rejwan, Deborah Chow, Ewan McGregor and Joby Harold.

Here’s the trailer,

Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi starts its engines on the 27th of May on Disney+.

Plot:

The story begins 10 years after the dramatic events of “Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith” where Obi-Wan Kenobi faced his greatest defeat—the downfall and corruption of his best friend and Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker, who turned to the dark side as evil Sith Lord Darth Vader.
