Josh Brolin (soon to be seen teaming up with the Coen Brothers again for True Grit) is stepping behind the cameras (as well as in front) for in an adaptation of a play by the name of Pitz and Joe.

Variety are reporting that he will produce, direct and star in the family drama, which follows the efforts of a sister to convince her brother that life is worth living again, following an accident which has rendered him brain-damaged.

The play’s author Dominique Cieri was inspired to write it after an incident in her life in1979, when her older brother broke his neck in an accident.

The film is being adapted by The Larry Sanders Show veteran Maya Forbes, whose recent screenplays have included Monsters vs. Aliens and the Rainn Wilson headliner, The Rocker.
