20th Century Studios and Imagine Entertainment have unveiled the first thrilling look at ‘Whalefall,’ an epic survival thriller that blends heart-pounding suspense with an emotional father-son story.
Based on the acclaimed novel, ‘Whalefall’ follows Jay Gardiner (Austin Abrams), a young man grappling with the loss of his father. Determined to find closure, Jay embarks on a dive off California’s Central Coast in search of his father’s remains. What begins as a deeply personal journey quickly turns into an unimaginable nightmare when he is swallowed whole by a massive sperm whale.
With only one hour of oxygen remaining and trapped within the belly of the enormous creature, Jay must fight for survival against impossible odds. As panic sets in, he begins to reflect on the lessons and wisdom passed down by his late father, played by Josh Brolin. Those hard-earned teachings may ultimately become the key to escaping one of nature’s most terrifying predators.
