Since the announcement that Robert Pattinson has taken up the mantle to play ‘Batman’ in Matt Reeves new feature on the caped crusader talk has been rife about who else could possible join the cast. Reports coming in overnight have revealed that Jonah Hill has entered into talks to star.
Currently, Hill’s role is being kept top secret but our vision questions whether the Penguin might be making an appearance in ‘The Batman’ and could Hill be the person to play him especially with the news that he is up for the role of the villain?
Also on the casting front, ‘Westworld’ actor Jeffrey Wright is also in negotiations to play Commissioner Gordon. The character has seen the likes of Ben McKenzie (Gotham), Gary Oldman (The Dark Knight Trilogy) and J.K. Simmons (Justice League) play the role.
Reeves has previously said of the stand-alone noir project that the story is “told very squarely on his shoulders, and I hope it’s going to be a story that will be thrilling but also emotional. It’s more Batman in his detective mode than we’ve seen in the films.”
Reeves took over the helm of ‘The Batman’ directing from Ben Affleck in January 2017 and has been developing the elusive project ever since.
Filming is expected to begin in late 2019, early 2020.
