It has been reported that Jeremy Piven (Entourage) and Thomas Jane (The Mist) have just been cast to star in Mark Pellington’s new thriller, I Melt With You.

Pellington’s last feature film was Henry Poole is Here starring Luke Wilson but it appears that this film is a full swing in the other direction on the pendulum.  The only information we have about the film’s story is that it will “follow the interconnecting lives of four men.”

Although it has been a while since we have seen anything from Pellington, he is returning to the thriller genre, his last entry was thriller was The Mothman Prophecies starring Richard Gere. Pellington stated in the Deadline exclusive that:

I am 48 and  found a dearth of films that speak to my life experience.  Where is my generation’s  version of Cassavetes’ Husbands? It is hard to get anything idiosyncratic made for a budget. I have been shooting music videos on small cameras at low cost and wanted to apply it to a film.

This is about four guys and deals with mortality, aging and friendship. It is very dark and very low budget. I have nothing against the larger budget movies I have made. I just want to make movies and doing it this way improves my chances.

The film starts production in August so expect to find out who the other two men are real soon.
