Production Weekly are good at getting our attention via Twitter. Yesterday, it was news that The Hobbit will being production in May, and today’s tweet reads:

James Franco will play mountaineer Aron Ralston in Danny Boyle’s “127 Hours,” filming begins early March in Utah.

From this tweet we can therefore assume that James Franco is going to play mountaineer Aron Ralston in Danny Boyle’s 127 Hours. Furthermore, shooting will being in March…. ish! 🙂

Sorry, I’m being silly. It’s not their fault that they only have 160 characters to play with!127 Hours is the true story about mountaineer Aron Ralston, who fell into a chasm and was there for nearly five days. His arm get pinned under a boulder and he has to use a penknife to cut off his arm. He then scales a 65 foot sheer ice wall and hiked out before finding help. It’ll be based around the book by Aron Ralston called Between a Rock and a Hard Place which tells the amazing tale.

I guess this is going to be a Titanic ‘how did it end’ type story but I think it will make a good film. And if Franco does well and the film is a massive hit, it should rocket his profile as he’ll pretty much be the only person in it! High potential for a slow dull story though? 127 minutes if after all, a long time to tell a story about a man in a hole? I guess Tom Hanks did it on an Island?! With Danny Boyle behind him, can he fail?

Keep checking back for more info.
