Remember the name. I mean, it’s not too hard to forget anyway, but Anson Boon is a star in the making. With yet another impressive turn in the chilling drama The Winter Lake, where he stars alongside Sex Education star Emma Mackey, the young performer will soon be seen heading up Danny Boyle’s television series Pistol, where Boon plays Sex Pistols frontman Johnny Rotten.

To celebrate the release of The Winter Lake – which is available on digital download now – we had the pleasure of speaking about his latest venture. He talks through his techniques, and the importance in building a character. He also speaks about his collaboration with Mackey, and on his own ambitions as an actor, talking about how he first got into the industry, and whether he felt it was accessible to those who hadn’t been at drama school. And finally, we discuss his role in Pistol, and his own personal affiliation with the music of the Sex Pistols.
