A year and a month ago we were standing on the 007 stage at Pinewood with Kenneth Branagh telling us ‘I love going to see films like this. The first weekend I love to see a great big movie on a great big screen. So the idea we could make something like this is a departure for me.’ This week UK audiences have the chance to judge for themselves how well Branagh has taken to the world of Jack Ryan.
The latest in the line of films based on the works of the late Tom Clancy Branagh is continuing a very interesting path away from the stage with Thor and this film. Chris Pine is the latest incarnation of our titular hero, but as Branagh explained on-set this is a very different Ryan to those as played by the likes of Harrison Ford and Ben Affleck.
The film is out at the end of this week but it was this evening that Leicester Square was turned over to the full force of Mr. Ryan and his friends for the UK premiere of the film.
