Paul-Giamatti-in-ParklandThis Friday – November 22 – will mark 50 years to the day since the assassination of American president John F. Kennedy, and to commemorate such a huge, historical event, Peter Landesman releases Parkland – a drama set on that fateful, unforgettable day. We had the pleasure of sitting down with the filmmaker to discuss his debut feature film.

Starring the likes of Zac Efron, Paul Giamatti and Ron Livingston, Parkland focuses in on a series of pivotal figures from the day – such as the doctors who desperately attempted to save the dying president, to the man who captured the shooting on tape, to the brother of the lead culprit, Lee Harvey Oswald – making for a poignant and affecting drama. Landesman discusses taking this fictional account from the page to the screen, how his journalistic experience helped in that regard, and what it’s like working with the great Paul Giamatti.

Parkland is released on November 22 and you can read our review here.
