While set photos have seemingly confirmed that Kit Harington will indeed be returning as Jon Snow in season six of Game of Thrones, that hasn’t stopped HBO from teasing us about the character’s fate after his apparent death in the finale. First there was a bloody poster and now we have a trailer which drops even more hints about the fan-favourite’s resurrection.

Interestingly, the footage here is narrated by the Three-Eyed Raven (Max von Sydow) and the returning Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead Wright). The former will provide guidance to Bran as he travels north of the Wall, and what he says here – “We watch, we listen, and we remember. The past is already written. The ink is dry.” – is very interesting indeed.

With Jon Snow likely set to return in Game of Thrones then, are the other key character deaths and moments which are shown also possibly going to be undone? As great as it is to have this first look at season six, it leaves us ith an infuriatingly long list of questions which sadly won’t be answered until Game of Thrones return to HBO and Sky Atlantic next April.
