Bulldog Film Distribution has announced that the heartfelt coming-of-age drama ‘Over/Under’ will arrive on digital platforms across the UK and Ireland from 24th August, before releasing in the US and Canada on 25th August.

Executive produced by Cooper Raiff (Cha Cha Real Smooth, Hal & Harper), ‘Over/Under’ is an intimate and nostalgic exploration of childhood friendship, growing up, and the bittersweet transition from innocence to adolescence.

Set during the summer of 2002, the story follows inseparable nine-year-old best friends Violet and Stella, whose carefree days are spent splashing through the waves, chasing butterflies, making wishes to fairies, and sharing the endless imagination that only childhood can bring. As summer fades, however, reality begins to creep in. Stella returns home to friends more interested in growing up than fantasy, while Violet is left isolated, facing bullying and quietly grappling with the physical and emotional changes that accompany puberty.

Over the course of several summers, the girls reunite, but the pressures of adolescence, first crushes, family struggles, and the desire to fit in begin to erode the bond that once felt unbreakable. At its heart, Over/Under is a poignant reflection on friendship, identity, and the fragile beauty of childhood, capturing the moments that shape us long before we realise they’re gone.

Leading the cast is Emajean Bullock, making her feature film debut as Violet, alongside Anastasia Veronica Lee (Fresh Kills), Adam David Thompson (A Teacher), Madeline Wise (So Help Me Todd), Brandon Keener (The Pitt), and Christiane Seidel (The Queen’s Gambit).
