Richard Madden is heading back to the small screen with a new action thriller. The ‘Game of Thrones’ and ‘Bodyguard’ star has signed on to lead ‘Trauma,’ a new series that will stream on Prime Video in the U.K. and Ireland, while Paramount+ will release the series across all other international territories.
The thriller places Madden at the centre of an explosive hostage crisis that unfolds inside one of London’s busiest hospitals, combining military action, medical drama, and edge-of-your-seat suspense.
In ‘Trauma,’ Madden stars as Jim Marchant, a former Royal Marines medic who has rebuilt his life as an emergency room doctor. His past is thrust back into action when terrorists storm a packed London hospital and seize the Prime Minister during a critical surgical procedure.

Trapped inside the building, Marchant must use his military training and medical expertise to fight his way through the hospital one floor at a time. As he battles to rescue patients, staff, and the nation’s leader, shifting alliances and strategic mind games turn the hospital into a deadly battlefield where survival depends on every decision.
The series has been created and written by Geoff Bussetil, whose previous credits include ‘Slow Horses,’ ‘Scoop,’ and ‘Skins.’
Directing duties will be handled by Daniel Syrkin, known for his work on ‘Tehran’ and ‘Mobland.’ Syrkin will also serve as an executive producer alongside Madden.
Executive producers Ben Pugh and Ben Cavey represent 42, with Chrissy Skinns producing the series and Chris Kennedy serving as co-producer.
