Harry Potter is returning to the big screen as Vue celebrates 25 years since the beloved wizarding franchise first cast its spell over cinema audiences.

To mark the anniversary of Harry’s cinematic debut in 2001, all eight films in the Harry Potter series will return to Vue cinemas as part of a special Harry Potter Back on the Big Screen Season, giving fans the chance to revisit Hogwarts and the wider wizarding world on the big screen.

The anniversary screenings will begin on 28 August with ‘Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone,’ the film that introduced audiences to Daniel Radcliffe’s Harry Potter, alongside his best friends Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger, played by Rupert Grint and Emma Watson.

Based on J.K. Rowling’s hugely popular book series, the film follows the young Harry as he discovers that he is a wizard and begins his first year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. There, he encounters a host of unforgettable professors, pupils and magical adventures, while gradually uncovering the mystery surrounding his own past.

The celebration will continue throughout September, with a different Harry Potter adventure returning to cinemas each week.

‘Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets’ will screen from 4 September, followed by ‘Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban’ from 11 September and ‘Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire’ from 18 September.

The journey continues with ‘Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix’ from 25 September, before ‘Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince’ arrives from 2 October.

The season will then head towards its spectacular conclusion in October with the two-part ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.’ Part 1 will screen from 9 October, followed by Part 2 from 16 October.

In the final two films, Harry, Ron and Hermione leave the familiar surroundings of Hogwarts behind as they embark on a dangerous mission to defeat Lord Voldemort. With the fate of both the wizarding and Muggle worlds hanging in the balance, the series builds towards its epic final confrontation.

The anniversary season also gives Potterheads the opportunity to pick up brand-new exclusive Harry Potter merchandise at Vue. Among the items available will be a collectable popcorn tin featuring a wand stirrer and a premium Harry Potter-themed cup, adding a little extra wizardry to the cinema experience.
