To celebrate the release of Halo on Paramount+ in the UK, the live-action adaptation of the hugely successful video game series which is now streaming, we had the chance to chat with its cast and executive producer to find out more.

Halo is set to follow “an epic 26th-century conflict between humanity and an alien threat known as the Covenant. Halo will weave deeply drawn personal stories with action, adventure, and a richly imagined vision of the future.”

Chatting to cast members Pablo Schreiber (Master Chief Petty Officer John-117) and Natascha McElhone (Dr. Catherine Elizabeth Halsey) we speak about the show’s rabid fanbase and the difficulties in pleasing everyone as all fans have their own versions, the reactions to season one and how it can help shape the show moving into its already commissioned season two, playing some of the gaming worlds most iconic characters and what non-fans can take from the show.

Executive producer Kiki Wolfkill, who worked with 343 Industries and Microsoft who created Halo, talks about the challenges of translating the game – any game – onto screen and the tough task of fulling so many characters and storylines, who she and creators weren’t keen of a literal adaptation, the pro’s and con’s of social media fan reactions and what to expect from its sophomore season.
