Returning
Del Toro’s fascination for the Monster movies of Japan as well as finding the human stories in amongst extraordinary situations is a curious blend for a summer blockbuster and when I spoke to the director I asked him about the building of the world and how to find the emotional heart amidst so much visual chaos.
I also wanted to know more about the parts of the film we didn’t get to see in the theatrical version, and to find out more about his next project, the very different and far smaller horror Crimson Peak.
All this week we have posted our interviews with the cast and to see those, and read our review of the film, you can click here.
