This evening a little bit of the Hundred Acre Wood came to the capital for the World Premiere of Goodbye Christopher Robin, held under the stars in London’s Leicester Square.

The film is directed by Simon Curtis, written by Frank Cottrell Boyce and Simon Vaughan. It stars Margot Robbie, Domhnall Gleeson, Kelly Macdonald, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Will Tilston and Alex Lawther. It tells the story of the young author returning home after The Great War and finding a changed world. He begins to find his feet again with the help of his wife and his young son – the titular C. R. Milne.

Goodbye Christopher Robin gives a rare glimpse into the relationship between beloved children’s author A. A. Milne (Domhnall Gleeson) and his son Christopher Robin, whose toys inspired the magical world of Winnie the Pooh.

Along with his mother Daphne (Margot Robbie), and his nanny Olive (Kelly Macdonald), Christopher Robin and his family are swept up in the international success of the books; the enchanting tales bringing hope and comfort to England after the First World War.
