The visual stylings of Rupert Sanders’ adaptation of Masamune Shirow‘s Ghost in the Shell have propelled the promo bandwagon to the forefront of our attention thus far. The controversial big screen take on the anime classic has been a long time in coming, and with Scarlett Johansson taking on the title role of The Major there’s a big audience out there. Two new posters have been revealed today and they are pretty great, doing good work in setting the world up, and giving us some kinetic action to expect.

We’ve already seen a number of small teases for the new live action adaptation and the fist-fighting future shock will need something special to carve out an identity of its own. Check out the latest trailer for an idea of what we’ve got in store.

Juliette Binoche and Michael Pitt are joining Johansson in the film along with Game of Thrones’ Pilou Asbæk and the ever-wonderful Takeshi Kitano.

Ghost in the Shell will be released in the US and the UK on the 31st of March
