Starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Bruce Willis in co-leading roles, Rian Johnson’s Looper is certain to be one of this year’s highlights, and I can’t wait for its September release to roll around.

We got our first full look at the film when the immense first trailer surfaced earlier this month, and now have three new images to share with you, including a first image of Emily Blunt, as well as one of Johnson and Gordon-Levitt on set.

“In the futuristic action thriller Looper, time travel will be invented – but it will be illegal and only available on the black market. When the mob wants to get rid of someone, they will send their target 30 years into the past, where a “looper” – a hired gun, like Joe (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) – is waiting to mop up. Joe is getting rich and life is good… until the day the mob decides to “close the loop,” sending back Joe’s future self (Bruce Willis) for assassination.

The film is written and directed by Rian Johnson and also stars Emily Blunt, Paul Dano, and Jeff Daniels. Ram Bergman and James D. Stern produce.”

As you can see from the above, Paul Dano and Jeff Daniels also co-star, along with Piper Perabo and Garrett Dillahunt rounding out the cast nicely.

Written and directed by Johnson, Looper is set to be released in the UK and US on 28th September, which is a date that can’t come fast enough for me. The few things we’ve seen from the movie so far have all been brilliant, and these new images – including the shotgun-wielding Blunt – only compound that. I can’t wait. As usual, you can click to enlarge.

Since graduating, I spend as much time as possible watching films/TV shows, reading books, and listening to music. So getting to write about what I love is nothing short of awesome. Biggest film-related hope for 2014/ever: Guy Ritchie announcing the RocknRolla sequel is finally moving forward.
