Very little is known about Patty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman, though rumours point to it taking place in a period setting. This first set photo from the movie appears to confirm that as Chris Pine (Star Trek) and Said Taghmaoui (The Missing) can be seen below wearing costumes which definitely wouldn’t look out of place during either World War I or World War II.

It was the latter who shared the photo via his Instagram account, though it appears as if Warner Bros. didn’t clue him into the fact that a movie like Wonder Woman is supposed to be shrouded in secrecy! Shortly after the image went viral, Taghmaoui deleted the post.

There have been a few different versions of Steve Trevor. The first met Wonder Woman when he crashed landed on her home island of Themyscira during World War I, but the current iteration was introduced to the Amazonian hero in the present day. As time has gone on, there have been multiple versions of DC Comics characters, but it definitely appears as if Warner Bros. has decided to utilise the classic version of Trevor rather than the one who serves as a member of A.R.G.U.S. and acts as an intermediately for the Justice League.

That’s a shame, but who knows, Wonder Woman could go down the route of Pine playing Steve Trevor and his great grandson. We’re just going to have to wait and see, but with production now underway in the UK, some official details should find their way online soon.
