Fast-and-Furious-6-PosterJustin Lin’s Fast and Furious 6 naturally has huge levels of buzz surrounding it, following a tremendous debut last month with a Super Bowl TV spot.

Since then, we’ve seen the first full-length trailer, the first theatrical trailer, a first featurette, and plenty more. And it’s all been awesome.

Universal had a huge success on their hands with the release of Fast Five back in 2011, which really took the franchise to the masses and brought it new levels of success. And with Fast and Furious 6 just two and a half months away, the studio have been gearing up its campaign very nicely.

Adding to all that we’ve seen so far, a new featurette has debuted over on Yahoo Movies, taking us behind the scenes of the film once more.

“Since Dom (Diesel) and Brian’s (Walker) Rio heist toppled a kingpin’s empire and left their crew with $100 million, our heroes have scattered across the globe. But their inability to return home and living forever on the lam have left their lives incomplete.

Meanwhile, Hobbs (Johnson) has been tracking an organization of lethally skilled mercenary drivers across 12 countries, whose mastermind (Evans) is aided by a ruthless second-in-command revealed to be the love Dom thought was dead, Letty (Rodriguez). The only way to stop the criminal outfit is to outmatch them at street level, so Hobbs asks Dom to assemble his elite team in London. Payment? Full pardons for all of them so they can return home and make their families whole again.”

Vin Diesel and Paul Walker top a brilliant ensemble once more, starring alongside Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Dwayne Johnson, Luke Evans, Joe Taslim, Tyrese Gibson, Gina Carano, Gal Gadot, Elsa Pataky, and Sung Kang.

Lin is behind the camera once more for Fast and Furious 6, having helmed the third, fourth, and fifth instalments. And he’s directing from a script penned by Chris Morgan, who’s written all the films in the series that Lin has directed.

Fast and Furious 6 will be released on 24th May in the UK and US, and I cannot wait for that release date to roll around. The only possible concern is that it comes on the same day as Warner Bros.’ and Todd Phillips’ The Hangover Part III, but I’m hoping that the competition will serve to boost both their numbers. At the very least, I’m planning on seeing them both as early as possible.
