James-McAvoyJames McAvoy is a very busy man. With a firm foothold in geek territory as Charles Xavier in the new X-Men movies, a lead role in Welcome to the Punch and Danny Boyle’s new film Trance he is also tearing up the boards in Macbeth in the West End. As an obvious consequence his name is attached to many projects swirling around in the filmic ether.

During an interview with Getty Images Entertainment to promote new movie Welcome To The Punch he also addressed a number of other projects he’s been linked to including The Crow remake.

He’s revealed: “The X-Men script? It’s in my inbox… I’ve still got to read it. I’m very excited about it but I’ve just been doing so much of this (interviews) and working at night (in Macbeth in London’s West End) so I’m starting work at 9 and don’t finish until midnight so I’m not being flippant…

“I honestly can’t wait to read it and find out what I’m doing but I’ve just got no time right now.”

When asked about claims he’s to take the lead in the reboot of The Crow, he denied any involvement.

McAvoy said: “It’s not for real. I don’t think it’s materialized into anything truthful yet… it’s just been rumour mill stuff.”

He also addressed the ongoing saga surrounding Wanted 2… a project he’s been linked to but appears to have stalled.

He clarified: “They’re doing the right thing. They won’t go ahead with it unless they get a story that feel totally and utterly 100 per cent passionate about.

“If they don’t have that then frankly they shouldn’t go ahead. But if they get a story together that they feel that way about then great, yeah.”
