Fast-and-Furious-6-PosterFast and Furious 6 is undeniably one of my most anticipated films of the year. Fast Five took the franchise to even higher heights back in 2011, and to say I can’t wait to see the next instalment would be something of an understatement.

Universal launched their campaign in the biggest and best way possible, with a 60-second TV spot during the Super Bowl. And now the first trailer has debuted in full online, following the 30-second preview Diesel gave us earlier. And it gives us an even better look at the highly anticipated blockbuster.

“Since Dom (Diesel) and Brian’s (Walker) Rio heist toppled a kingpin’s empire and left their crew with $100 million, our heroes have scattered across the globe.  But their inability to return home and living forever on the lam have left their lives incomplete.

Meanwhile, Hobbs (Johnson) has been tracking an organization of lethally skilled mercenary drivers across 12 countries, whose mastermind (Evans) is aided by a ruthless second-in-command revealed to be the love Dom thought was dead, Letty (Rodriguez).  The only way to stop the criminal outfit is to outmatch them at street level, so Hobbs asks Dom to assemble his elite team in London.  Payment?  Full pardons for all of them so they can return home and make their families whole again.”

Vin Diesel and Paul Walker are once more front and centre here, and the leading duo are joined by Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Dwayne Johnson, Luke Evans, Joe Taslim, Tyrese Gibson, Gina Carano, Gal Gadot, Elsa Pataky, and the excellent Sung Kang. The ensemble for Fast Five was absolutely brilliant, and it looks like Fast and Furious 6 has really out-done itself.

Justin Lin is behind the camera once more, having helmed the third, fourth, and fifth instalments, and he’s directing from a script penned by Chris Morgan, who’s written all the films in the series that Lin has directed.

Fast and Furious 6 will be arriving in UK and US theatres on 24th May, and that date really can’t come fast enough. This is going to be utterly immense; nothing short of epic. Here’s the first trailer in full to get you excited. Roll on 24th May.
