Chud have premiered the first teaser poster for Troy Nixey’s directorial debut, Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark, starring Katie Holmes (The Extra Man), Guy Pearce (The Road) and Bailee Madison (Brothers). The poster is a hand-drawn, Comic-Con exclusive.
Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark tells the story of a young girl sent to live with her father and his new girlfriend who discovers creatures in her new home who want to claim her as one of their own.
The film was written by Matthew Robbins and Guillermo Del Toro, who is also acting as producer, and is a remake of the 1973 TV series of the same name. Don’t be Afraid of the Dark will be released in the US on January 21, 2011 by Miramax.
A panel will be present at Comic-Con on Friday afternoon, so expect more details, and possibly a trailer, to be divulged.
