A special Thanksgiving TV spot (which is in fact pretty much the length of a trailer at nearly two minutes long) for Sir Ridley Scott’s Exodus: Gods and Kings has been released, and if offers up plenty of epic new footage from the Biblical epic which will see The Dark Knight’s Christian Bale take on the role of Moses.

In Exodus: Gods And Kings, Joel Edgerton plays Egyptian Pharaoh Ramses, Sigourney Weaver and John Turturro play his royal parents Tuya and Seti, Aaron Paul is a follower of Moses, and Ben Kingsley rounds out the cast as a Hebrew scholar. It’s an impressive and interesting cast which should be a lot of fun to watch.

Like Noah before it, there looks set to be some key changes made to this particular Bible story, something which has upset many. However, there’s also been some controversy over what has been described as a “whitewashing” of the cast due to the apparent lack of ethnic diversity in Exodus: Gods and Kings.

In a recent interview with Variety, Scott was quoted as saying the following in regards to the reasoning behind casting a white lead like Christian Bale as Moses. “I can’t mount a film of this budget, where I have to rely on tax rebates in Spain, and say that my lead actor is Mohammad so-and-so from such-and-such.”

Controversial comments, but understandable due to how the Hollywood system works. Regardless, what do you think about this latest look at Exodus: Gods and Kings? Be sure to let us know your thoughts below!
