Paramount Pictures has today debuted the first full teaser trailer for their upcoming comedy-drama Downsizing, which you can view in the player below.
Downsizing is the new film from director Alexander Payne, the filmmaker behind The Descendants, Sideways and Nebraska and along with his co-writer Jim Taylor, return with what looks like another fantastic piece of filmmaking.
The film stars Matt Damon (The Martian) and Kristen Wiig (mother!) as a couple who give up their normal existence to downsize, literally, as part of a new scientific breakthrough. Christoph Waltz (Spectre), Jason Sudeikis (Colossal), Joaquim de Almeida (The Hitman’s Bodyguard) and Hong Chau, Alec Baldwin (30 Rock), Laura Dern (Star Wars: The Last Jedi) and Neil Patrick Harris (Gone Girl).

Here’s the synopsis:
When scientists discover how to shrink humans to five inches tall as a solution to over-population, Paul (Matt Damon) and his wife Audrey (Kristen Wiig) decide to abandon their stressed lives in order to get small and move to a new downsized community — a choice that triggers life-changing adventures.
Downsizing opens in the US on December 22nd with a UK date to be confirmed – though it is playing at next month’s London Film Festival.
