The first trailer hit at the start of last month to confirm what we already knew: Quentin Tarantino is a genius, and he’s going to have another huge success on his hands.
Yahoo Movies have just released a new 60-second spot after airing during the BET Awards tonight, and it is absolutely awesome.
“Set in the South two years before the Civil War, DJANGO UNCHAINED stars Academy Award(R)-winner Jamie Foxx as Django, a slave whose brutal history with his former owners lands him face-to-face with German-born bounty hunter Dr. King Schultz (Academy Award(R)-winner Christoph Waltz). Schultz is on the trail of the murderous Brittle brothers, and only Django can lead him to his bounty. The unorthodox Schultz acquires Django with a promise to free him upon the capture of the Brittles–dead or alive.”
Written and directed by Tarantino, the film has a formidable line-up headed up by Jamie Foxx, Leonardo DiCaprio, Christoph Waltz, Samuel L. Jackson, Kerry Washington, and recent addition Jonah Hill – guaranteed to be epic.
Django Unchained will hit US theatres on Christmas Day, which almost certainly puts an Oscar run on the table from The Weinstein Company. Here in the UK, we’ll be seeing it on 18th January, 2013, giving us a perfect start to the cinema of the new year. I can’t wait. Here’s why.
